To get your Monday started on a good note..  Here's an old picture of Lynda Carter wearing a Shakey's Tee circa late 70s / early 80s.  Ah.. two of my first loves. Wonder Woman and Pizza!

    Yeah, I remember some years ago sportswriter Bill Simmons talking about this particular snap; I love it, and it's my favorite photo of Lynda Carter ever.

RIP Hostess Raspberry Filled Powdered Donuts — A Nostalgic Favorite

I wrote an article close to a decade ago, to share my dismay with Hostess for discontinuing their Raspberry Filled Donuts. That article was still getting an unreal amount of traffic and interaction to this very day. In fact, no other article I have written has brought the amount of traffic to 'The Retro Dad' that this one has. It's still a subject that lots of folks are interested in, so I have dusted off the article and updated it for the snack cake loving masses in 2023. Enjoy.. When TV Shows Change and So Does Life

A few weeks ago, life hit hard. Some mornings, I found myself sitting up in bed with a cup of coffee, staring at the TV for hours.. not really thinking, just letting the noise fill the room. I didn’t try to pick a show. Choosing felt like too much effort. So, I jumped from app to app.. streaming service to streaming service. I got sick of it, so I just went to one of those live TV guide apps, pointed the remote and started scrolling  I was looking for anything familiar. Something old that didn’t demand attention. It reminded me of the days when cable TV ruled, when you could stumble across a show without deciding. Much to my surprise there were many channels that just looped old reruns from certain shows endlessly. Twighlight Zone, Gun Smoke, Alfred Hitchcock, etc. Over time, I noticed a pattern.
