Not one of Sinatra's bigger selling albums, even though his talent is exceptionally showcased.  It features lots of songs where he talks of love, regret, and loss. If you ever happen to be too happy and need to be taken down a notch or two, this album will do the trick pallie!

This still plays perfectly, and my Old Man swears 8-tracks have better sound than newfangled CD's!  Yup.. that's my Old Man.  Retro til' the end!

I've been on the hunt for new bar soaps to use in the shower lately, and the road traveled has led me to several old school soaps. I decided to give the two oldest soaps that I remember from my childhood, a side by side comparison to see how they hold up against one another. IRISH SPRING $0.97 for two 3.2 ounce bars This soap has had many slogans over the years, but the most famous one very well may be..  leaves you as fresh and clean as a whistle . It may sound a bit corny, but this is the experience I had with Irish Spring. The soap was incredibly efficient at removing dirt and grime, without an excess of suds. Perhaps the the lack of suds equates into the soap not breaking down as fast. The reason I lean towards that reasoning, is because my bar of Irish Spring stood up to daily showering (sometimes twice a day) for 10 days. Discontinued Hostess and Tastykake Cherry Sweet Rolls

In this blog post, I break down what happened with these beloved snack cakes that generations have come to love, are no longer available for purchase, and possible substitutions. The Hostess Sweet Roll Remember these rolls? Well I sure do! In fact, they were a big part of my childhood growing up. My absolute favorite was the Cherry Sweet Rolls, but my parents preferred the Cinnamon Rolls, so that's what they bought 90% of the time. Mind you, I would never complain about eating the cinnamon rolls if they were in front of me. I remember my Mom putting these out for people she would invite over for coffee, or for visitors after dinner. On weekends, my Dad would get up early to buy a newspaper, and would bring these home for us as a snack before breakfast. That was a weekend tradition I carried on after I started my own family. The Little Cars That Left a Big Impression The other night, I wandered into a car show in Kissimmee Florida, expecting the usual spectacle, muscle cars roaring, shiny sports cars glinting under the lights, Corvettes drawing crowds. And yes, they were all impressive, but none of them held my attention like something far more humble. I found myself spending a heck of a lot of time viewing a broad assortment of classic Toyotas and Datsuns from the '70s and 80's. It was a really nice surprise and not what you’d expect at a car show, right? But these old Corollas and other Toyota models have a story. They were reliable, affordable, economical, and built to last.
